Environmental Policy
Vermi Industries Sdn Bhd establish its Environmental Policy in August 2016 with the aim of minimizing waste generation and pollution, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations, and promoting self-regulation within the company.

Each year, environmental budgeting is treated as a mandatory component of our financial planning. The company allocates approximately RM100,000.00 annually for the operation of our scheduled waste management and wastewater treatment facilities – both of which play a vital role in maintaining our environmental standards.

To demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability, Vermi Industries has implemented several initiatives that promote a cleaner and healthier environment. These programs include:
1. GO GREEN CAMPAIGN
In support of a cleaner and greener environment, Vermi Industries actively participates in recycling initiatives under the Go Green Campaign. Our production and packaging processes generate a substantial amount of plastic and paper-based waste – approximately 3 metric tons of plastic and 2 metric tons of paper waste monthly. All recyclable materials are collected and sent to recycling facilities to ensure proper reuse and waste reduction.

The plastic materials used in the packaging process generate plastic-based waste.

All plastic waste produced during packaging is collected and properly stored before being sent to recycling facilities for processing.

Paper-based waste is generated from office use, wrapping rolls, and carton boxes used in product packaging.

All paper waste is carefully collected and stored before being sent to recycling facilities for proper processing.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING COMMITTEE (EMC)
To ensure that our operations consistently meet environmental safety standards, the Environmental Monitoring Committee (EMC) was established. This committee oversees waste management processes, ensuring that all waste produced by the company is properly treated or neutralized before being discharged into the environment.

This committee will ensure the environmental quality in this company is following the guidelines or standard that been given by DOE.

There are two competent personnel responsible for coordinating and managing environmental quality in the company. Mr. Moo Siong has been a certified CePIETSO professional since June 2016, overseeing the Wastewater Treatment (IETS) operations while Mr. Mohamad Solihin bin Mohyono has been a certified CePSWaM professional since February 2019, managing the scheduled waste generated by the company.

The policy-level committee consists of seven members, ranging from the General Manager level to the Manager level.

Meetings for this committee are held once a year and are chaired by the General Manager.

Training sessions are conducted by competent personnel to ensure that all staff apply the correct methods for handling scheduled waste.
3. SCHEDULED WASTE STORAGE AND WATER TREATMENT FACILITIES
As part of our deep commitment to environmental protection, Vermi Industries has built dedicated scheduled waste storage and wastewater treatment facilities to ensure proper waste handling. The company generates around 0.5 metric tons of spent lubricant oil annually from machinery operations, which is managed responsibly through proper storage and disposal methods to prevent environmental harm. Recognizing that water pollution poses a major threat to the environment, we have also invested in a wastewater treatment system to treat all wastewater before it is safely discharged into nearby waterways.

The scheduled waste storage and packaging facilities has been made in our company to store the scheduled waste before transfer to the off-site recovery facilities.

The waste water that be generated in vermicelli process is being treat before discharge into the nearby river.
4. Positive Impact of the Environmental Policy
The implementation of our Environmental Policy has resulted in measurable improvements in scheduled waste management and wastewater treatment efficiency. These positive outcomes reflect our ongoing dedication to sustainable operations and environmental stewardship.

The data show a consistency scheduled wastes have been generated and not exceed the maximum limit for these six month
